Global Development Lead (Freelance)
Listed: 11th May 2026
DEADLINE TO APPLY: 7th June 2026
About SheRACES
SheRACES is a UK-based non profit (charity conversion pending) advocating globally for equity, safety and inclusivity in endurance and mass participation sports (such as road running, trail running, triathlon and swimming). We work with race directors, industry organisations, brands and athletes to drive systemic change in the way races are designed, promoted and experienced by women.
The Role
We’re looking for a proactive, globally minded individual to lead our international development work – growing our network of affiliated events, local chapters and partnerships across the world. This is an incredible opportunity for someone passionate about driving positive change in endurance sports and building diverse, community-led initiatives.
You do not need to have worked in this type of role before – we are looking for passion, understanding of the race industry and a genuine commitment to what we’re aiming to achieve with SheRACES.
Key Responsibilities
Develop outreach strategies to expand the SheRACES movement geographically through:
-
Establishing new regional Chapters (based on our existing model with SheRACES India).
-
Building relationships with and supporting race directors across multiple countries, particularly within endurance sports.
-
Identifying and collaborating with local running/triathlon groups and community leaders to establish strong relationships and ambassador networks.
-
Advocating for the implementation of SheRACES Race Guidelines around gender equality and inclusive race practices, supporting athletes in communications with races where issues have occurred (www.sheraces.com/race-guidelines)
-
Collaborating closely with the central SheRACES team on global campaigns, partnerships and content initiatives.
-
Tracking progress and reporting on global growth, engagement and key impact metrics.
About You
-
Highly proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently.
-
Race experience as an athlete of any ability and/or organiser, ideally with experience participating across several countries within endurance sport.
-
Passionate advocate for inclusion and equity for women of all backgrounds and abilities, with demonstrable experience in activism, advocacy or community initiatives.
-
Comfortable working flexibly across time zones within a small, dynamic and creative team.
-
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the confidence to initiate conversations and partnerships.
-
Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
-
Creative thinker who enjoys shaping initiatives from the ground up.
-
Happy to take on additional tasks when needed to meet our goals.
What We Offer
-
A flexible, purpose-driven role where you can shape real global impact and play an influential part in all that we do at SheRACES.
-
Fully remote working with flexible structure and output-based approach (for instance, if you are an athlete this can flex around racing schedules).
-
Opportunity to grow the role as the organisation and funding expand.
-
Supportive, mission-led team passionate about improving endurance sport for everyone.
